LM LMLA Holiday charity topped $161,000

Everything has now been counted and the total is astounding – Lockheed Martin employees in Fort Worth donated a grand total of $161,130 in gifts, food and other forms of holiday charity in 2008!

The total includes items contributed by employees to 20 local charities. The largest single recipient was the Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots program, which received 407 bicycles and helmets, over 1,400 toys and about $9,000 in cash contributed by employees – for a whopping total of $60,000 in contributions.

The next largest effort was collection of 4,238 DVDs and CDs for our troops, valued at $42,380.
“I have been very fortunate to have such an outstanding team and I am very honored to work with them in support of our company and our community,” said David B. Williams, who coordinated the overall campaign on behalf of the LMLA.
